Pantone release colour forecast for 2013 and it's emerald green all the way. Kate Middleton clearly knows a trend when she sees one, as after stepping out in a show-stopping emerald gown recently - Pantone have named it as the colour of 2013.
Following on from the Duchess of Cambridge wearing a Mulberry dress in the hue, Pantone - the provider of professional colour standards to the design industries - has revealed emerald will be the colour to wear next year.
Making the annual colour forecast announcement today, Leatrice Wiseman - executive director of the
Pantone Colour Institute of the shade - revealed: "The most abundant hue in nature, the human eye sees more green than any other colour.
"It's a colour of growth, renewal, heating, unity and regeneration - words we're all so in need of at this point of history. "The powerful and universally-appealing tone translates easily to both fashion and home interiors." Pantone makes its colour forecast for the following year every December, combing the world of entertainment to travel searching for colour influences.
The catwalks' use of the hue is bound to play a pivotal role; with the likes of Kenzo and Marios Schwab all putting in a nod to the colour in their spring/summer 2013 shows. A whole host of stars have been spotted wearing emerald in recent weeks too, with Rachel Weisz wearing the look in Lanvin and Nikki Reed, Katy Perry and Salma Hayek all following suit.
Tell us if you'll be wearing the trend over on Twitter, now.
