DELECTABLE NOLLYWOOD ACTRESS JENNIFER ELIOGU SWELLS THE LEAGUE OF NOLLYWOOD ACTRESSES THAT HAVE BIT THE MUSIC BUG - DROPS DEBUT SINGLE TITLED "YOU & I"

Delectable Nollywood diva, Jennifer Eliogu has joined other Nollywood actresses like Stella Damasus, Tonto Dike and Cosy Orjiakor, etc. who have forayed into the music business when she dropped her debut single titled "YOU & I,  from her upcoming album.

The star actress who says the single is a tip of the iceberg as her upcoming album which will ready sometime in 2013, would be mind blowing.  The song was produced by ace producer Chris Okoro.

Jennifer who does soul, jazz, highlife, lover's rock reggae, R&B, say's her passion for music  started from her youthful day's in the choir. "Music had always been my first love, and I sing not because it's in vogue, but because I know that I have all it takes to make good music.  After 16 years in moviedom, I know that I have paid my dues, so I have decided to live my dream  and do music on a professional level. For me it's a mission, not a competition".

YOU & I is a marriage between two generations - then and now, is a sampling of a 1974 song by Celestine Ukwu & His Philosophers National band titled "Mmefie Adiro Mgbayalu Ama Di".

Most Nigerian pop stars of his time adopted or acquired titles like King, Sir, Lord, Cardinal, etc, but the great Celestine Ukwu was happy to be a humble Professor and his band had the poetic name of the Philosophers. Ukwu began his career in the 1960's in Enugu, capital of the Eastern Region of Nigeria when his band was called the Music Royals, but the Biafran war put an end to their career in 1967. After the war he resurrected the band in the early 70's as the Philosophers National. Tragically Celestine Ukwu died in a car crash in 1977.
