Nigeria is about to witness the biggest concert of the year as two of the biggest names in Nigerian music share a stage live in concert.

Scoale Entertainment in conjunction with Too Much Music, present Femi Kuti and 2face Idibia in the “2 Kings Concert”. The prestigious Eko Hotel and Suites will play host to this event on the 25^th of August 2013.

Femi Kuti (born Olufela Olufemi Anikulapo Kuti) is the eldest son of afrobeat pioneer, Fela Kuti. He plays the saxophone, trumpet and keyboards. He started out his career in music as a member of his father’s band and then went on to create his own band Positive Force in the late 1980s. His international career began in 1988 when he was invited by the French Cultural Centre in Lagos and Christian Mousset to perform at the Festival d'Angoulême (France), the New Morning Club in Paris and Moers Festival in Germany. 

Like his father, Femi has shown a strong commitment to social and political causes throughout his career. His songs have been sampled by different international artistes while featuring international acts in his work like in 2001, where he collaborated on his album “Fight to Win” with a number of U.S. musicians, including Common, Mos Def, and Jaguar Wright.

In addition to several award for musical excellence, Femi Kuti has been nominated for a Grammy award three times in the world music category in 2003, 2010 and 2012.

2face Idibia (born Innocent Ujah Idibia) is one of the most successful hip pop artists in Nigeria, while consistently ranked as one the best Nigerian musicians of all-time, 2face has received five Headies Awards, four Channel O Music Awards, one BET Award, MTV Europe Music Award, MTV Africa Music Award for his musical work, and numerous additional nominations. He was a member of the defunct Plantashun Boys, whose disbandment saw the release of Idibia's debut album Face 2 face (2004), which established him as a viable solo artist.

Following the release of his debut album in 2004, he has had three more, which recorded resounding successes upon their release going on to consolidate his position in Nigerian and African music.

Scoale Entertainment stages the concert in conjunction with Too Much Music, to launch “Music Against Hunger”. The MAH project will create a volunteer platform for music Icons to encourage every youth to pursue personal excellence and use their capacities for the sake of others by promoting a life of service dedicated to creating a hunger free nation with harmony in all aspects of life.

Lil Wayne has denied intentionally disrespecting the American flag after appearing to trample it in his new music video. 

The often controversial rapper spoke out as the backlash grew following his apparent attack on the national symbol. 'I didn't step on the flag on purpose!' he tweeted. 'It's a scene in a video where the flag drops behind me and after it drop it's just there as I perform.'

But it remains to be seen if Wayne's denial will calm the angry response to the video.

Twitter users have vented their frustration at the 30-year-old's unpatriotic attitude, branding him 'disgusting' and a 'scumbag'.

Wayne returned to his old 'stomping' grounds of Hollygrove, New Orleans to shoot the video for 'God Bless Amerika', a single off his album.

SHOCKING FOOTAGE OF THE MOMENT RAPPER 2 CHAINZ WAS TARGETED BY ARMED ROBBERS

Shocking video has emerged of the moment rapper 2 Chainz was targeted by a group of gun-wielding men during what appeared to be an armed robbery attempt in San Francisco.

In the CCTV footage, obtained by TMZ.com, the 35-year-old musician is seen walking along the street with a group of friends when two men approach, with one wielding a gun.

2 Chainz is then seen running in a blind panic and tripping up on the road as one of the men stands over him pointing the gun directly at him.

Police later told the gossip website that the rapper had his mobile phone and wallet taken.

However, 2 Chainz denied anything had been taken, writing on Twitter: 'Rule #1 if a rapper gets robbed people usually post items that has been taken. Rings, chains, watch, money etc.

'Rule #2 if a rapper gets shot he usually go to hospital or dies.'

He added: 'Nobody took Anything from me, i didn't get shot, I'm not in jail, Don't know wut else to tell ya. Sorry if I disappointed anyone, maybe next time. (sic)'

The robbery attempt came after 2 Chainz landed in hot water again after he was collared for purportedly possessing Promethazine.

A backpack in the van had a marijuana grinder and trace amounts of marijuana, police said.

After the arrest in February, 2 Chainz' website tweeted a photograph that appears to show him posing with two police officers.

Black said the Maryland State Police could not confirm the authenticity of the photograph but is investigating.

Epps was scheduled to perform Thursday evening at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. His website later tweeted a photo from the stage and wrote the 'show must go on.'

One Direction have sparked concern among fans after they were pictured smoking roll-up cigarettes.

Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson were seen puffing away as they enjoyed a boat ride during a trip to Miami earlier this week. 

And while there is no evidence the boys were dabbling in anything illegal, fans speculated that Zayn and Louis were perhaps smoking a cannabis joint.

One wrote: 'I hope it's a rumour about you and Zayn smoking weed. I respect you guys so much, but it tears me down.'  Another added: 'My reaction to Zayn and Louis apparently “Smoking Pot” #Disappointed #Upset #SayNoToDrugs.'

While Louis and Zayn were the only two pictured smoking the cigarettes, bandmates Harry Styles, Niall Horan and Liam Payne were also seen on the deck of the boat.

A spokesperson declined to comment when contacted by MailOnline. There is no evidence that the band were in fact smoking drugs. 

Last summer Zayn quit Twitter after he was targeted by people accusing him of smoking cannabis.

NIGERIAN HIGHLIFE MUSIC ICON, FATAI ROLLING DOLLAR, DIES AT 86

HIGHLIFE music legend, Fatai Olanrewaju Olagunju (AKA Fatai Rolling Dollar is dead! He was aged 86. The Won Kere Si Number Wa crooner reportedly died early Wednesday at a Lagos hospital.

His death was confirmed to the media by one of his surviving wives, Funmilola (popularly known as Iya Jamiu). Before his eventual death, he had been admitted for some days and discharged. The legendary singer fell ill on June 5, 2013, and was rushed to the hospital by one of his wives.  

Often described as the Come Back King, Fatai got his famed nickname from his days in Secondary School when he had the ability of rolling silver dollars expertly before the football teams decide which side takes the first kick.  Back then he was always called by his schoolmates to roll Dollars to choose sides for football teams at leisure periods. He was born in Ede in 1926 to the family of Late Chief Olagunju.

His music break came in 1953 when he collaborated with master guitarist, J.O. Araba and tenor sax, Ishola Willie Payne to play at the exclusive Island Club in Lagos. Their Afro Skittle Band adopted Ghanaian palm wine music to Yoruba highlife sounds, a fusion that deeply influenced up-and-coming artists like Sunny Ade and Ebenezer Obey (whom he taught to play the guitar) as well as late Fela Kuti.  It is on record that the early days of independence saw the Afro Skittles recording several 78-rpm vinyl songs for Philips, with hits like Ranka Dede and Ogba oya ya.

Rolling Dollar, however, disappeared from the music scene for about 25 years before making a great return in 2003. He also benefitted immensely from the former Lagos State governor, Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu who pulled him out of abject poverty and gave him a new home amongst other goodies.  He has left behind a legacy of determination, as his inspired return from oblivion is a pointer that no matter how old you are, you can still be relevant if you remain focused on your goals. He is survived by three wives including a German and 16 children.

In a related development, the composer of the current National Anthem, Arise O Compatriots, Pa Benedict Odiase, is dead. He reportedly died last night. Last year he got a cheque of N150,000 from the Musical Copyright Society of Nigeria as royalty for using the composition as a ringtone.  The cash represents a specific point of royalty to Odiase, who retired as an Assistant Commissioner of Police.

According to our source, “The old man was sick, indebted to hospital and suffering before he died of grinding poverty”.

Today, H&M confirmed that the bikini pictures they used of Beyonce were in fact the original shots – but admitted there had been ‘discussion’ about them.
