BREAKING NEWS: SHAKIRA GIVES BIRTH TO BABY BOY MILAN

It's a bouncing baby boy for Shakira! The Colombian singer welcomed her first son with boyfriend Gerard Pique on Tuesday, Jan. 22, in Barcelona, her rep confirmed to Us Weekly. 

"We are happy to announce the birth of Milan Piqué Mebarak, son of Shakira Mebarak and Gerard Piqué, born January 22nd at 9:36pm, in Barcelona, Spain," the proud singer wrote on her site, explaining that "the name Milan (pronounced MEE-lahn), means dear, loving and gracious in Slavic; in Ancient Roman, eager and laborious; and in Sanskrit, unification."

"Just like his father, baby Milan became a member of FC Barcelona at birth," the site stated. "The hospital confirmed that the couple's first child weighed approximately 6lbs. 6 ounces, and that both mother and child are in excellent health.

The 35-year-old mentor for The Voice urged fans to join her and her Spanish soccer star boyfriend, 25, in welcoming their happy bundle of joy after reportedly being rushed to the the hospital Tuesday.  "I'd like to ask you all to accompany me in your prayers on this very important day of my life. Shak," she posted to her Twitter in both Spanish and English earlier in the afternoon.  

Anxious father-to-be Pique also shared his excitement with fans on his Instagram prior to his son's birth.  "This Tuesday (22 of January) our first son will be born," he posted. Fans responded with well wishes and congratulations for the expectant parents. 

The happy couple previously threw fans and the media for a loop with a false alarm back in December, when Pique announced their son's birth as part of an April Fool’s Day-like holiday prank.  "Our son has been born! We are very happy! Thanks to all for your messages," he tweeted his 4.7 million followers in Spanish on Dec. 27. After sending everyone into a flurry, however, the prankster athlete clarified that Shakira was still very much with child.  

"It has a name! His name is Innocent!" he clarified on the social media site. "Happy Dia de los Inocentes to all!"  

Shakira and her soccer playing beau, who have been spotted together since March 2011, first announced their pregnancy via Facebook last September. 

The "Tortura" singer hasn't been in any rush to have her baby, however. Just as month, she posted a shot of her showing off her large baby belly with Pique by her side.  

"I could have another nine months like this," she tweeted. The couple also recently threw a virtual baby shower to fete their son's arrival.  

"To celebrate the arrival of our first child, we hope that, in his name, other less privileged children in the world can have their basic needs covered through gifts and donations," the invitation read, sent along with a stunning photo of Shakira and her bare baby bump. "Thank you for sharing this unforgettable moment with us."

Teen heartthrob Justin Bieber with his hordes of fans known of Beliebers became the King of Twitter on Tuesday, topping fellow pop star Lady Gaga as the user with the most followers.

Data from TwitterCounter.com showed that the 18-year-old Canadian singer jumped into the lead with 33.33 million followers, topping Lady Gaga's 33.32 million and ending her two-and-a-half year rule of the microblogging site.  A spokesman from TwitterCounter.com said Lady Gaga has held the top slot on Twitter since August 2010 when she overtook U.S. pop star Britney Spears.

Bieber rose to fame as a baby-faced pop star singing love songs such as "Baby" after being discovered on YouTube in 2008. He has released two No. 1 albums in the past 18 months - the holiday-themed "Under the Mistletoe" and "Believe."  Bieber was named by Forbes magazine in 2012 as the third-most powerful celebrity in the world and his huge following on Twitter was cited as a reason why marketers need to take notice of the 140-character micro-blogging site.

Lady Gaga has dropped to second in Twitter followed by singer Katy Perry in third with 31.49 million followers then Rihanna and Barack Obama with 26.17 million followers. Britney Spears has slipped to sixth place.

CURVY Mikel Ruffinelli shows off the world’s biggest hips — measuring more than EIGHT FEET round.

The mum of four’s amazing natural 100in curves mean she struggles to get through doorways — and needs two seats on planes.

Mikel, 39, drives a truck as her 30st frame cannot squeeze into a car and needs a reinforced chair at home.

Yet the plus-size model — a trim 10st as a teenager — is PROUD of her figure and does not want to lose weight, even though she often attracts jeers. She said: “Everywhere I go I get attention for my hips — both good and bad.

“When I walk down the street I can hear the shutters going on cameraphones and people laughing at me.

“I’ve heard people saying, ‘Look at her fat a**’.

“Some people assume I’ve had surgery to enhance my a** and hips, but it’s all natural. I think that it’s the result of having four children, but large hips also run in my family.”

Mikel was a normal-sized youngster and even in her early 20s tipped the scales at a modest 13st.

But at 22, she put on four stone after having first child Andrew, now 18. And after daughters Destynee, 13, Autumn, eight, and Justyce, seven, followed, her weight and hips ballooned further. But despite her curves she stands at just 5ft 4ins and has a proportionally small 40-inch waist Married Mikel, of Los Angeles, owns up to the difficulties that her size causes in everyday life.

She revealed: “When I travel by plane or train I have to buy two seats because I can’t fit my a** into one. It gets quite expensive. I drive a truck rather than using public transport wherever possible because it’s big enough to fit all of me in.

“Going through tight spaces is sometimes a problem for me and I have to go through doorways sideways.

“And I can’t close the shower door because my hips get in the way. I’ve even been stuck in the bath before.”

Yet she still enjoys joining in family activities such as keep-fit routines at home and trips to the park and seaside — where she shows off her 42D boobs in a revealing two-piece costume.

She added: “Finding clothes to fit my bottom half is a challenge. I have my lingerie custom-made by seamstresses.”

Mikel also defiantly vows never to diet after vainly struggling for years with slimming plans.

She eats an average 3,000 calories a day — 500 more than the recommended intake for an average man — and she joyfully tucks into her favourite Mexican dishes as well as chicken, seafood and cheese.

On an average day she has two eggs, sausage, bacon and half a dozen potatoes for breakfast.

Her lunch is often fried fish and chips and dinner is barbecue chicken with rice or mashed potato.

In between meals Mikel snacks on peanuts, granola bars and crisps. And hubby Reggie Brooks, 40, is delighted at her well-fed figure.

The computer technician — wed to her for ten years — beamed: “I love her shape. When we met she already had big hips. That’s one of things that attracted me.

“But she’s also a beautiful person on the inside too. Her confidence in herself and her body is sexy.

“When we walk down the street I see guys checking her out and I feel proud that she’s mine.

“If men disrespect her in front of me it doesn’t go down well. I have to show them who’s boss.”

And Mikel — who has modelled for a Big Beautiful Women website for five years — hopes that her confidence will make other women embrace their curves.

She added: “I like that I can look in the mirror and love me just the way I am.

“I want big women to understand that you don’t have to be thin like catwalk models to be beautiful.

“I hope I can inspire women to look at me and think, ‘She’s happy with her body — and she’s got the biggest hips in the world.’ ”

TREY SONGZ NEARLY LOST MOVIE ROLE OVER STUDIO SNUB

Trey Songz almost lost out on his first major movie role because studio bosses thought he was an unknown musician.

Director John Luessenhop was determined to cast the R&B star in Texas Chainsaw 3D, the latest remake of classic 1974 horror The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, but he has revealed executives at movie company Lionsgate were against the idea because they had never heard of the chart star.

He tells the Los Angeles Times, "People at Lionsgate were uncertain, saying, 'We've never heard of him. We don't know who he is'... (Then a studio executive Googled him and) goes 'Oh my God, cast him right now.'" The choice has proved popular among movie fans as the film shot straight to the top of the U.S. box office on its release last week (ends06Jan13).

In case you haven’t been following, the newest development on the reality talentshow horizon is the curious addition of Nicki Minaj to the American Idol panel.

The move has undoubtedly livened up the showconsiderably, with Nicki taking over a huge amount of screen time and unleashing her penchant for crazy behavior and kooky contestants. From her very first appearance on the show, it was clear who was in charge. Minaj was the last of the judges to appear, with her trademark flamboyance being spread across TV screens cross America. The move makes it clear that the show’s producers intend to indulge her, in order to boost ratings, and it looks like their move is working.

Will it work in the long run though? At least for a while, probably, but Miss Minaj’s brutal honesty with contestants, and her tendency to favor the, well, the weird ones and her 'feud' with fellow judge Mariah Carey certainly provides a breath of fresh air on Idol, but it can only go so far. Like a lot of its counterparts, notably the X Factor, American Idol has been struggling to boost ratings for the past couple of seasons, and it is becoming increasingly clear that the constant changes to the judging panel aren’t going to cut it. The format is becoming stale and at this point it will take nothing short of a miracle to refresh it. Sadly, even with all her wigs, personalities and stunningly unrealistic accents, Nicki Minaj is no miracle worker.

NICKI MINAJ CALLS MARIAH CAREY A "BITCH" ON AMERICAN IDOL PREMIERE

Let the diva wars begin! After the Wednesday Jan. 16 season premiere of a totally revamped American Idol -- with new judges Keith Urban, Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj joining veteran holdout Randy Jackson plus host Ryan Seacrest -- the much-hyped friction between Minaj and Carey was finally on the small screen.

During the first of many audition episodes, the Grammy-winning singer and "Starships" rapper argued over just about anything. In the elevator on day one, for example, Carey takes issue with Minaj's huge, plumed majorette hat .

"We can have accessories? I didn't know that was allowed," Carey sniffed at the judges table, then complaining about her right to bring her dog to work. Later, Carey bragged about her holiday chestnut, "All I Want for Christmas." Minaj then calls her rival a "bitch" under her breath.

Carey then warned Minaj that anything that "starts with a 'B' and ends with an 'itch' – I rebuke it!" The women even argued over the Lindsay Lohan flick Mean Girls -- with Carey challenging Minaj to reference the film correctly.

Other mishaps during the premiere? Country singer Urban spilled his huge cup of Coke on Minaj after a sexy Israeli singer, Shira Gavrielov, auditions.

"Oh my God, I'm so sorry … we'll have to edit right here," Urban, 46, uttered.l Us: What did you think of the premiere?
