In 2008 he teamed with Iovine and a handful of other partners to launch Beats By Dr. Dre, which now sells more than half of the country’s premium headphones ($100 and up). That’s music to the ears of Dr. Dre, who collected $100 million pretax when handset maker HTC paid $300 million for a 51% stake in the company last year.
With $110 million in pretax earnings, Dr. Dre is this year's Hip-Hop Cash King—despite the fact that his long-awaited album, Detox, remains on the shelf. He's not the only one on the list who banks the bulk of his bucks outside the recording studio

Lil Wayne is joined on the Cash Kings list by labelmates Drake (No. 6) and Nicki Minaj (No. 8), who banked $20.5 million and $15.5 million, respectively, thanks to new albums, tours and product endorsements with companies like Kodak and Pepsi.

Their boss, Cash Money co-founder Bryan "Birdman" Williams, ranks seventh with $20 million. Even lower down on the list, artists are getting paid considerable sums to shill products.

No. 9 Eminem sold more albums last decade than any artist in the world, and continues to cash in from his extensive back catalog and occasional tour dates, pulling in $15 million.

Ludacris rounds out the top ten with earnings of $12 million. The multihyphenate mogul's non-musical ventures include Conjure cognac, headphone line Soul, voiceovers for RadioShack and roles in movies such as Fast Five and New Year's Eve.

All in all, hip-hop's top 20 earners pulled in $415 million last year, the most since 2008's $515 million. The more recent total got a heavy boost from Dr. Dre's impressive haul, but it doesn't mean he's resting on his financial laurels. Earlier this summer, he and his partners bought back half of the 51% stake in Beats that they sold to HTC nearly a year ago—meaning that fans waiting for his new album might have to hold out a little longe

To compile the Cash Kings list Forbes charts pretax earnings for all living artists whose work is primarily classified as hip-hop or rap, we looked at income from touring, record sales, publishing, films, merchandise sales, endorsements and other ventures. Management, agent and attorney fees are not deducted; earnings are tabulated from May 2011 to May 2012 and based on data from Pollstar, the Recording Industry Association of America and Nielsen SoundScan, and from interviews with numerous managers, lawyers, record executives and some of the artists themselves.

“The reality of it is, you want to do something that you own,” says frequent Jay-Z collaborator Timbaland, who ranks No. 20 on the list with $6 million. “You want to own what you put your heart into. That’s how you make money.”

We present Wahid Abiodun Azeez aka YDIZ. Born on 11-06-90 in Sagamu, Ogun State - Nigeria.  Had his my Primary and Secondary education at St., Paul's School II, Ijoko and Remo Secondary School, Sagamu, respectively.  Exposed himself to different genres of music as a kid. Dad used to run a shop selling Nigerian indigenous music records and cassettes. During weekends, YDIZ used to tag along with dad to events, where he also played as a DJ. It was fun and interesting living and dining in music for YDIZ.

YDIZ was the best dancer and singer in his primary school, did lots of miming and singing in secondary school. Started writing songs while in SS3, in 2007 and eventually had his first studio experience in 2009 at Hi-point studios (INDOMIX) in Sagamu. 

Currently studying Business Administration (Education) at Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ogun State - Nigeria. YDIZ recorded his first demo 'OMOLEWA' in 2010 which was produced by S.CUBE (my high school classmate), mixed and mastered by late LB at Indoorbeats studio (which later became Phrazebeatz). 

YDIZ sings, plays guitar and sequence on FL and has performed at most events, club shows, faculty dinners in my school.  He participated and was one of the Mixtape Finalists in the Don Jazzy ''ENIGMA'' competition' in 2011 and also became One of the 'OOU ALLSTAZ' same year. His vocal delivery made him the 'OOU Choruz Making Machine'.

YDIZ released his 1st hit track 'TUKASA' ft. Mayor Wete (Omo shubi soundtrack maker), produced by T-mode as an unsigned artiste in 2011 and the song enjoyed some airplay on Nigerian radio stations such as Star Fm, Brilla Fm, Rainbow FM and Rockcity Fm.

YZIZ says 2012 has been a very busy one as he is working on his my double banger hit tracks featuring a top artiste and being produced by one of Nigerian's top producers and Sound engineers.

Jay-Z got a boost from President Barack Obama over the weekend at the Budweiser Made In America festival in Philadelphia, where the hip-hop mogul was both an organizer and headline performer.

AMBER ROSE IS PREGNANT FOR WIZ KHALIFA

It has been reported that Amber Rose is pregnant with her first child.

The model and her rapper fiancé Wiz Khalifa did not plan the alleged pregnancy but are reportedly delighted to have a little one on the way.

It has also emerged that the engaged couple may tie the knot sooner than they originally intended to.

Sources close to the couple claimed: ‘Amber's already had to make some big lifestyle changes, like not smoking cigarettes anymore.‘As a model she's used to having a thin waist, so this is going to be an adjustment for her.’

According to Media Takeout, the first site to report the curvaceous model’s pregnancy, Rose and Khalifa’s forthcoming baby has also forced the couple to bump up their wedding date to October of this year.
